Each month we take a moment to show appreciation for an exemplary member of our community. Affectionately named “Lesbifriend Luminary”, we honor you.
Please take a moment to read more about The Mojuba Collective and consider donating to this amazing and much-needed safe space, as Lesbifriends Travel would love to continue to hold events here for the community.
Support The Mojuba Collective:
Patience is a vocal performance artist from Washington, DC; a creative soul with a passion for education, the spoken word, and sound healing.
She began writing and performing poetry as a high school sophomore. While studying Radio Production at Columbia College Chicago, Patience shared stages with several activists and artists, such as Angela Y. Davis, Nikki Giovanni, and other notable figures.
Patience is most recently recognized as the "Scat" of the Peace & Body Roll Duo BOOMscat and the owner of The Mojuba Collective, a multi-use space dedicated to the artistic and the holistic.
If she must be classified by genre, Patience is an artist who creates collages for your listening pleasure. If you listen closely you may feel her heart between your ears.
The Mojuba Collective is a multi-use space dedicated to the artistic, musically inclined, weird, and the other. It is home to jam sessions, pop-ups, meet-and-greets, Holistic Happy Hours, and fellowship. Lesbifriends Travel was recently fortunate enough to hold an event at this much needed creative space owned and operated by a fellow queer woman of color.
Mojuba is holding a fundraiser to help replenish its building so that it can continue a legacy of a safe and affordable space for Black organizers, artists, healers, and creative minds. Your support would directly contribute to the repairs of the physical space, added infrastructure, and logistical support to continue offering events, workshops, open mics, and makers markets.
