Queer Table: An Intimate South Indian Culinary Journey

  • Spicez 1610 Wisconsin Ave. NW Washington, DC 20007 United States (map)

Lesbifriends Travel has partnered with Spicez to bring you an intimate culinary experience created especially for our queer community.

At this Queer Table, we’ll bond over the joy of cooking, the magic of South Indian flavors, and the experiences that connect us.

Let’s create an intentional space where culture, community, and cuisine collide.

About Our Host

Spicez is a woman-owned Indian food shop that offers a vibrant array of spices, herbs, traditional Indian and Eastern foods, desserts, and cooking classes.

The shop’s owner, Rani, has a beautiful culinary journey rooted in the simple yet essential art of making rotis during her childhood. During the challenges of Covid, Rani rediscovered her love for the kitchen, empowering herself by exploring diverse dishes and flavors.

Now, she’s excited to invite you to share in the joy, healing, and creativity she has found through cooking.

What You’ll Experience

  • Culinary Exploration: Learn the secrets of South Indian cooking as we create a rich and flavorful curry, a wholesome vegetarian dish, and master the art of making rotis, rice, and raita.

  • Shared Moments: Bond with fellow members of the queer community in an intimate setting designed to foster connection, laughter, and joy.

  • A Sweet Ending: Indulge in a decadent dessert as we reflect on the stories and flavors we’ve shared, bringing the evening to a satisfying close.
