Each month we take a moment to show appreciation for an exemplary member of our community. Affectionately named “Lesbifriend Luminary”, we honor you.
Jasmine Fillmore is a passionate advocate, content creator, and cancer warrior navigating life after a synovial sarcoma diagnosis.
In November 2022, She was diagnosed with this rare cancer and after undergoing surgery and treatment, remained in remission for two years. However, in late October 2024, She was diagnosed with Stage 4 sarcoma after metastatic tumors were found in her lungs.
Through her platform, she created Sarcoma Sundays, a weekly Instagram segment where she openly discusses her cancer journey. Her goal is to bring awareness to sarcoma cancer, provide support to others battling cancer, and inspire people to advocate for their health.
Before beginning the next phase of treatment and chemo cycles, she joined Lesbifriends Travel on her first international trip to Thailand! She describes it as, “the most incredible, life-changing experience—an unforgettable journey that gave me strength and joy at a pivotal time.”
As her journey continues to unfold, she remains committed to healing, holistic wellness, and creating a space for community building. Her vision is to create spaces where people—especially within the LGBTQ+ community—can connect, heal, and thrive together.
